About my cooking
I love cooking from scratch and trying new things. I try to buy locally as much as possible and I keep most processed foods out of my diet. I'm an omnivore but I eat vegan/vegetarian meals several times a week.
My seven year old son Alex is allergic to dairy, peas and peanuts. I love to make treats for him and he loves messing around in the kitchen. I grew up with a father that loved anything different and could make an awesome stir-fry and a mom and grandma that made the best Slovak comfort food. My husband John will try anything but his tastes have taught me that often the simplest food is best. To complicate things he has a German mother and a Greek father who have opened up a whole new world of things to try and cook.

I was wondering if you'd used fondant...
They look awesome! Thanks for the info!!
It's stunning! You are an artist!
You're so talented! They look eerily real... not sure if I'd be able to eat them on top of a cupcake
Okay, so you had me TOTALLY fooled! (blush). I just went back to take another look at the cupcakes, and of course that doesn't look like spinach. . . brilliant! :)
That is just way too cool!

I made fondant a couple of months ago for a first time lots of work yours looks fabulous.
wow. wonderful. looking at these photos made me smile.
You know, the only reason I was able to rule out that it was a real sardine before the reveal were the markings on the tail--those I recognized as impressions in fondant--and also the eyes a little, but otherwise these were convincing enough that I had to look twice. Nice job!
Those look absolutely superb Maggie!
ok that is much better ten fish paste
Amazing sculpting- It looks so realistic, but still so cute! Great April Fool's joke; no fish were harmed in the making, I trust! ;)
